Bartlett Nature Center in Bartlett 60103 offers various programs and activities for individuals of all ages. This nature center can be found in James Pate Philip State Park’s Visitor center. The Bartlett Nature Center started hosting educational programs like nature classes in 1999, and as their popularity grew by 2006, they moved to the James Pate Philip State Park. The Park is open Monday through Saturday and closed on holidays like New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Easter, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Fourth of July, and Thanksgiving Day. Bartlett Nature center offers a variety of recreational and educational activities and programs. It hosts outdoor camps for youths and other program classes during the summer. There is something to do for every age; the programs can be catered to Boy and Girl Scouts, home schools, day-care and preschools, school grades K-12, and other community groups.

To schedule programs at the Bartlett Nature Center, you need to book one month in advance. Also, the programs scheduled are on a first come-first served basis. In the summers, a natural butterfly garden is planted in front of the visitor center, a popular destination for people of all ages. There are also displays of animal bones and pelts found in the region that explain the transformation of the land and species over time in the Bartlett area.

The Bartlett Nature Center also offers a variety of boy and girl scout programs and activities. These can be scheduled and customized through advanced registration. Each week, the nature center hosts a different recreational and educational program/activity; at the end, a different badge of achievement is given. The center even offers an opportunity to stay overnight at the museum, or the campsites, only for scout groups.
