After receiving numerous nominations, The Jurgovan Family of South Elgin was chosen.

Mother, Amanda couldn’t have been more excited when she got the news. “Our old furnace is on the fritz. The auto fan isn’t working, so we are running it continuously in order for it to blow hot air which drives up both our electric and gas bills.”

“We are also a one income family and with our pocketbook lighter during the holidays, this couldn’t have happened at a better time.” I’m so appreciative of this gift for my family and for my online support group of “Mom Friends” on Facebook for nominating me.”

Amanda and husband Eric’s daughter McKenna was diagnosed with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) at 9 months old and given 1 year to live. Amanda quit working to take care of her full time and with the help of great doctors, she is now 4 years old and doing well. The Jurgovan’s also have a daughter Emery who is 19 months old.
