Heat Pump Service, Repair, and Installation in Arlington Heights, IL
Heat pumps have become one of the most efficient ways to keep Arlington Heights homes comfortable through every season, from the sweltering humidity of July to the deep freezes that settle in come January. At McNally’s Heating and Cooling, our team brings the expertise and local know-how to handle your heat pump needs with care and precision.
Why Heat Pumps Make Sense for Arlington Heights, IL Homeowners
A heat pump is a single system that handles both heating and cooling, which makes it a smart investment for homes in the Chicago suburbs where the seasons swing hard in both directions. Rather than burning fuel to generate heat, a heat pump moves heat energy from one place to another, keeping energy costs lower while maintaining consistent comfort throughout the year. For Arlington Heights residents who want to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels without sacrificing performance, a modern heat pump can be a genuinely compelling option.
Today’s cold-climate heat pump models are engineered to perform efficiently even when temperatures drop well below freezing, which matters a great deal here in Cook County where polar vortex conditions are not uncommon. McNally’s stays current on the latest equipment so we can recommend a system that is actually suited to your home and your local climate. We take the time to understand your situation before suggesting any solution.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will a heat pump work well enough during an Arlington Heights winter?
This is one of the most common questions we hear from homeowners in the area, and it is a fair one. Older heat pump technology did struggle in extreme cold, but modern cold-climate heat pumps are designed to operate efficiently even when temperatures drop into the single digits, which does happen here in northern Cook County. During our consultation, we can help you determine whether a heat pump alone meets your needs or whether a dual-fuel setup makes more sense for your home. Schedule a conversation with our team to talk through your specific situation.
How do I know if my heat pump needs repair or replacement?
Age is one of the biggest factors. A heat pump that is 15 years or older and requiring frequent repairs may cost more to maintain than a newer system would cost to install. If your system is newer but showing signs of trouble, such as poor heating or cooling performance, unusual noises, or rising energy bills, a repair visit from our technicians can help determine what is going on and what the most sensible path forward looks like. We will always give you an honest assessment rather than pushing you toward an unnecessary replacement. You can also explore our emergency services if your system stops working unexpectedly.
Does McNally's install ductless mini-split heat pumps in Arlington Heights?
Yes, we install both ducted and ductless heat pump systems. Ductless mini-splits are a popular option for Arlington Heights homeowners who are adding a room addition, finishing a basement, or looking to condition a space that is not connected to the central system. They offer flexible zoning and can be very energy efficient. Our team can assess your space and walk you through whether a ductless system or a traditional ducted heat pump is the better fit.
Can I get a heat pump for my commercial property in or near Arlington Heights?
Absolutely. McNally’s serves commercial businesses throughout Arlington Heights and surrounding communities including Palatine, Rolling Meadows, and Mount Prospect. Heat pumps can be an excellent fit for light commercial applications where energy efficiency and year-round comfort are priorities. Reach out to us to discuss your commercial property and we will help you find the right approach.
Are there any promotions available on heat pump installation?
McNally’s does offer promotions from time to time, and it is always worth checking before you commit to a new installation. Visit our promotions page to see what is currently available. Additionally, many heat pump installations qualify for federal tax credits and utility rebates, and our team can point you in the right direction when it comes to understanding what incentives may apply to your project.
