Heat Pump Service, Repair, and Installation in Hoffman Estates, IL
A properly maintained heat pump keeps your Hoffman Estates home comfortable through every season, from humid summer heat to the deep chill of an Illinois winter. McNally’s Heating and Cooling brings trusted, local expertise to every heat pump service, repair, and installation we perform.
Why Heat Pumps Are a Smart Choice for Hoffman Estates Homeowners
Heat pumps have become one of the most energy-efficient comfort solutions available, and homeowners across Hoffman Estates are taking notice. Unlike traditional systems that generate heat, a heat pump moves heat from one place to another, which means it can both warm your home in winter and cool it during those sticky Illinois summers without running two entirely separate systems.
For many households in the area, switching to or upgrading a heat pump translates into meaningful savings on monthly energy bills while also reducing wear on the overall HVAC system. McNally’s team can help you evaluate whether a heat pump is the right fit for your home, your budget, and the specific demands of our local climate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a heat pump work well during cold Illinois winters in Hoffman Estates?
Modern heat pumps are significantly more capable in cold weather than older models. Many of today’s systems are designed to operate efficiently even when outdoor temperatures drop well below freezing, which is a real consideration for Hoffman Estates winters. During an assessment, our team can help you understand which heat pump technology is best suited for the local climate and your home’s specific needs. Schedule a consultation to get started.
How do I know if my heat pump needs repair or should be replaced?
There are several signs that a heat pump may need attention, including unusual noises, inconsistent temperatures, higher than normal energy bills, or a system that runs constantly without reaching the set temperature. In some cases a repair is the right call, and in others replacement makes more financial sense. McNally’s technicians will give you an honest assessment so you can make an informed decision. You can also explore our full range of heating services for additional options.
Can a heat pump handle both heating and cooling for my Hoffman Estates home?
Yes, that is one of the biggest advantages of a heat pump system. It functions as both a heating and cooling unit, which means you get year-round comfort from a single system. For Hoffman Estates homeowners who deal with hot, humid summers and cold winters, this versatility is a practical and cost-effective solution. If you want to learn more about how this fits into your overall home comfort setup, visit our air conditioning services page.
How long does a heat pump installation take?
Most standard heat pump installations can be completed in a single day, though the exact timeline depends on the specifics of your home, the type of system being installed, and whether any existing equipment needs to be removed or modified. McNally’s will give you a clear expectation before work begins so there are no surprises. Schedule your appointment online and we will walk you through the process from start to finish.
